On 18th September 2018 the price was awarded to Sabine Kubiček for her contribution “A Novel in-situ X-Ray Diffraction Cell Design for Electrochemical Measurements”.

Metrohm is an internationally active producer of precision instruments for chemical analysis. Because of its 75-years anniversary, Metrohm has invited young chemists all around the world to present their work in the field of electrical chemistry and nominated the best participants in over 100 countries.

In Austria, the prize was awarded to Sabine Kubiček for her contribution “A Novel in-situ X-Ray Diffraction Cell Design for Electrochemical Measurements”. Sabine Kubiček has developed this setup, which combines XRD measurements and electrochemical analysis of thin films exposed to liquids, while working as PhD student in the EM2APS project in cooperation with the TU Vienna, especially the Electrochemistry Devision and the X-Ray Center.
